ABOUT THE PRODUCER

Finca La Moras


Finca Las Moras is unique within Volcafe, the farm is actually owned by our sister company, Milinos de Honduras. It’s operated as a model farm for Volcafe Way, our sustainability programme operated throughout most coffee growing origins. The farm, situated in Siguatepeque, is used as an experimental centre for Texas A & M University and World Coffee Research to analyse different coffee varieties in a nursery of 20,000 seedlings. Weather stations operate on the farm and irrigation systems have been put in place to off set irregular weather patterns.

 As a Volcafe Way model farm, Finca Las Moras is used extensively to train regional farmers on positive agricultural practices as well as dealing with climate change.
